We are thrilled to welcome Jessie Keenan on board this year as a Light Moves Festival curator. Jessie joined the team earlier this year in the run up to our Open Calls programme and film selection process.
Jessie Keenan is an Irish choreographer whose practice spans live performance, site specific happenings, film and curation. Her work intersects science, music, visual art and archives.
Selected projects: ‘Don’t anticipate the ending’ (two films & a digital exhibition) created with composer Robbie Blake & researcher Dr. Zosia Kuczyńska in partnership with the Museum of Literature Ireland (2022); ‘Submerged’ (film) collaboration with Kim McCafferty, commissioned by Cavan Arts for Culture Night 2020, screened at Light Moves Festival 2021; ‘Fragments’(live performance) Dublin Fringe Festival 2018 (nominated for Best Design) supported by an Arts Council Next Generation Award.
Keenan is Dance Artist in Residence at Townhall Cavan 2023/24 supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, Townhall Theatre and Cavan County Council.
