Oguri is a dancer choreographer, Artistic Director of Body Weather Laboratory, co-artistic director of ARCANE Collective, and lecturer at UCLA School of Theater, Film, and TV. A native of Japan, Oguri is an internationally acclaimed dancer who improvises and collaborates with musicians, sculptors, painters, poets, and literature. Artist-in-residence at the Electric Lodge. He has received support from the National Endowment for the Arts, National Dance Project, New England Foundation of the Arts, The Rockefeller Foundation, The James Irvine Foundation, and Metabolic Studio, The Japan Foundation, 2018 United States Artist Doris Duke Fellow and among others.
Andrew Macpherson was born in London where he began his career as a fashion photographer (The Face, Vogue and Bazaar.) He moved to Los Angeles in 1995 to focus on the entertainment and music industry. His published books include Two Million Miles, (2006). And 10 Years With P!nk, (2014), showcasing images he and music artist, P!nk, collaborated on over six albums and tours, and A Question of Spirit, (2015).
Richard Nielson Painter, photographer, and printmaker. With a background in lithography and etching, Nielsen’s painting and photographic practice is informed by the expanded field of printmaking. His works can be found in museum collections including Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and Mass MOCA, MA. Nielsen collaborates with artist Lauren Bon and her Metabolic Studio Optics Division since 2007.
Atiba Jefferson from Colorado Springs, grew up skateboarding, moved to LA in 1995. Best known for his 25 years of skateboarding photography. H now works at Thrasher Magazine. Atiba was a staff photographer for the LA Lakers during the Shaq and Kobe years and the most SLAM magazine covers. Clients include Supreme, Adidas, Nike, Converse, Reebok, ESPN, Gatorade, Mountain Dew, Oakley, Panasonic, Pepsi and Netflix.
Ricardo Vidana from Durango, Mexico, began taking photos using disposable, digital, and point and shoot cameras. He often uses broken pieces of glass and binoculars as filters to get effects like blurs and reflections. Ricardo’s work has shown in galleries and has been featured in Sadie Girl Press in Pamplemousse and has self -published zines A Whiskey Séance.
Tali Maranges: Photographer, visual artist, and musician from Los Angeles. Her photography often focuses on capturing the daily life and the creative processes of her peers, including a collective of young artists, musicians, and friends, based in south central Los Angeles.
Roxanne Steinberg‘s work is rooted in a deep comprehension of the phenomenon of dance as embodied knowledge—dancing as a form of knowing. Artist in residence at Electric Lodge, she leads Body Weather training there, teaches and performs worldwide, solo and with Oguri. She collaborates with artists, composers and choreographers and is part of Lauren Bon’s art practice at Metabolic Studio. She is a 2020 recipient of the Department of Cultural Affairs City of Los Angeles (COLA) Individual Artist Fellowship.
Morleigh Steinberg – a native of Los Angeles California lives between LA and Dublin, Ireland. She is a dancer, choreographer, lighting designer, filmmaker and photographer and art curator. As dancer, choreographer, she has toured the world extensively with Momix & ISO Dance and ARCANE Collective, a dance production company she founded in 2011 with fellow dance artist Oguri. Since it’s inception, ARCANE Collective’s work has been seen at the Guggenheim Museum NYC, The Hammer Museum, LA REDCAT, Project Arts Centre Dublin, IRE, New York Live Arts, and at Grec Festival Barcelona. Since 1993 she has been working with U2 as creative consultant. She has shot and directed numerous award -winning short films, videos, including the full-length documentary Height of Sky. In 2017 she founded ARCANE Space in Venice, California producing and presenting visual arts in a “gallery” setting. She curated and edited the photos for Dance and Eye and designed the installation along with Oguri.
